After the successful symposium InspireAdriatic 2023, which was attended by over 80 participants from various research fields, and numerous positive feedbacks, the organizing committee and the Ruđer Bošković Institute are pleased to announce the „2nd international scientific symposium Interdisciplinary Approach to the Scientific Research of the Adriatic Sea” InspireAdriatic 2025.

The symposium will take place on May 19th and 20th, 2025 in Zagreb on the premises of the Algebra Bernays University. The two-day symposium will once again provide a unique platform to inspire and connect researchers studying the characteristics of the complex ecosystems of the Adriatic Sea exposed to the effects of various stressors. The aim of the second international symposium InspireAdriatic 2025 is to bring together scientists, students and inspired people from all shores of the Adriatic and beyond to present the current state and challenges of their research and exchange ideas for a better future of our common sea. Given the current turbulent circumstances in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, it is of utmost importance to gather all researchers and promote cooperation among them.

With the aim of promoting and supporting the interdisciplinary approach, we warmly invite researchers from different backgrounds to share their latest findings, network and exchange new and emerging ideas. The symposium will feature keynote speakers, each followed by sessions on topics relevant to the Adriatic. PhD students and postdoc researchers are especially welcome to present their work. Programme will also include a poster session corner. We encourage active participation (oral or poster), but participants without contributions are also welcome.

The symposium “Interdisciplinary Approach to the Scientific Research of the Adriatic Sea” aims to bring together outstanding scientists and experts from Croatia and abroad who are engaged in research of the Adriatic Sea. The main challenges in the research and management of the Adriatic Sea require an interdisciplinary approach, which will be presented at the symposium with lectures from the fields of physics, geology, chemistry, biology and geophysics. The event will also be dedicated to the memory of dr. Marko Branica, advocate of marine research in Croatia. While you wait for the symposium, check out our Instagram and Facebook pages for the latest updates and insights!
